Question:Alright...some of you (very few) know my past, my history. I admit I was at one point lovesick but I have gotten over that and put it behind me, and I have re-given my heart to my Lord and Savior.
But that is not the point. I wrote this becuase I want to know what your tips are to becoming a great answer-er.
(btw, that's not a word, but oh well.)
I know some of my answers in the past have been one liners, and even my questions have been a little silly and nieve, but I want to change that.
Please don't shun me becuase I am only in High School. After all, that's where all great people start. (hopefully.)
Any tips would be great. I already got best answer on at least one question, and even though I am only at level one, I wish to change that. (How do I do that, anyways?)
When I answer a question, I try to give a fully explanational and biblicly based answer. Sometimes I am wrong, and I admit to that.
Please comment, and don't dismiss my question as a bore.
Thank you.

Padme,

I am not a top contributor, but I do get some best answers.

The best way to answer people is with thoughtful, honest answers. Dont answer questions based on how you feel, but based on logic and smarts. Dont answer questions that you are not sure about, as someone can take your advice and be really sorry for it, just because they didnt know to check the facts.

You can get to higher levels in Yahoo Answers by answering questions. You get two points for every question you answer, one point for entering into Yahoo Answers, and of course, you get ten points for getting a best answer.

I hope you dont mind that I answered your question and I am not a top contributor, but you are seriously asking, so I thought I would take the chance and give you a serious answer.

BTW, CONGRATS on re-dedicating your life to the Lord! As one who lived without the Lord for 17 years and with the Lord for 20 years, I can definitely tell you that with is better!

You go, girl; you will get there!

Uh...... Is this a dancing question?

1. Don't ask questions like this in catagories that don't concern this topic. People will get annoyed.

2. Becoming a top contributor is just a matter of really knowing your stuff and effectively communicating it, while being helpful. Lay off the Jesus schpiel. If that's your path, good for you, but not everyone on here is going to appreciate it...at all.

Pay attention to your spelling.
Any time you answer a question, answer the question completely and to the best of your ability.
If you don't know the answer to a question, then don't answer the question.

You gain levels by gaining points. You gain points by answering questions. You get more points by getting a "best answer."

> biblicly based
Some questions will require an answer that can't be found in the Bible. Don't be afraid of these. God doesn't mind that you know how to count in hexadecimal, although hexadecimal doesn't appear in the bible.

If you want to be a top contributor, you need to pick a category, and answer a lot of questions in that category regularly -- and be chosen "best answer" sometimes.

Hey Padme, first off it doesn't matter how old you are-I'm 14 and I'm a top contributor.

You have to give good quality answers in the same category and provide lots of info; that's what I did to get mine.

When I give an answer I pretty much give a whole essay lol.

Have a look at my last best answer: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... It's long, has lots of info, has links and extra information. I also have lots of experience in dancing. You can't become a Top Contributor without knowing a lot of info on the particular category that you think are best at.

Having good spelling and grammar helps as well-it gives it more of a professional look.

By looking at your answers, you give a lot of answers in lots of different categories. Try and stick to the one that you know lots about eg: Hockey.

Once you've picked that category look at the questions that may have been asked 2 days ago, answer as many as you can. Sooner or later Yahoo will recognise your efforts and give you that badge :)

Good Luck! I really do help this helps :)

I'd sit here and type a whole newspaper but to the point: tell it how you feel. Be honest in all your questions. Try to give as many tips and suggestions as possible. Age doesnt matter if you know your stuff. Be yourself and dont worry what anyone else thinks b/c it leads to self deception and ppl will see thru that. Best of luck!

At your age you should log off the computer and put down the addictive prayer book and spend more time with real friends, school, and finding out what you want to do with yourself.
