You know almost every little girls dream was to become a ballerina at one point. Some of us wanted to do ballet and our parents let us, some of us although wanted to do ballet ballet but our parents said no. And we never got to, but just know that ballet especially dance is never too late. A lot of people ask the same question everyday, and the answer is always that it's not too late. And I think the reason your mom is telling you constantly that it's too late is because it is if your dream is to go professional than it's too late because you need a certain amount of years of training, but as a hobby? You could start any day. :) Well actually you could go pros but it'd be too hard unless you were one of those geniuses, who just magically was a natural. Very unlikely though, but I do want to say this. :) If want to do ballet you need to go to a professional school, as in a pretty good one, you want to be trained the right way. Going to a place with trained and qualified teachers is a very important thing. First, you should find a couple of ballet school that seem goo, and you should go and visit them, then they should give you a student handbook, or a packet of information this is how you can tell is they're goo, then check the studios see if they are light and airy and have a good atmostphere. Do they have piano accompiment? That is the best. The levels should go up by leotard colors. Don't ever go to a school in the $45 tuition a month range. Those are cheap, and not good. You will clearly be able to see the difference between a good school and a bad one. If they put you in the teen/ adult class, I reccomend you should just take the ones with the 8-10 year olds, trust me it's better, you won't get teased, you'll then within a year be promoted up a level then will be with girls problaly around 13-15 then so on. Just have patience you'll go up before you know it , and then it won't be as embarrassing! Oh, and take at least 2 classes a week, it's minium. What's the point of going once a week? Trust me if you take 1 class a week you'l forget everything you learned from the previous one. :)

I'm afraid I have bad news.If you wanted to be a pro,the time has passed for you to get into point-work.However,if you still want to take class for the discipling and the great excersise, then go for it!

It's never too late, go for it.

Its never to late
if you have a passion for it and its something you really want you can do it
You dont even know if you have a talent for it

:)

Of course not!

My friend started taking ballet at the age of 25. Yes she may not be a pro but she's pretty darn good on what she has learned. Anyone can learn at any age. But the secret is determination. If you have it, no one can stop you from learning but you :-)

Not too late at all! If you have interests in it then you should def. take up a class or two!
Try it out.

Tell your mom if after 3 weeks of taking classes you don't like it or "fit in", you'll drop it.

U R never too late to learn and get good at ballet even if you don't try to go pro . With determination and 3-4 classes/week you can learn a lot and be on point in a few months (never mind what another poster said - I've seen plus-size women in their 30's start classes and be on point in <4 months). Point out to your Mom the benefits of dance - discipline, fitness, poise and great posture among other things....Good Luck

asked the same question aday or 2 ago. no,it's not too late if you're willing to work hard ;)
