You need to have a lot of muscle strength as well as be flexible enough. Your thighs and abs need to be strong enough to support your back and the weight of your upper body. Try doing exercises to increase your flexibility and strengthen those muscles. A really good and simple one for your thighs is to sit in a kneeling position. You should then be sitting directly on your heels. All you do then is raise your self up so your on your knees and then lower yourself again. You will probably really feel the burn after only several times. If you do this everyday for a few weeks you'll have really strong thighs. Of course there are many exercises your probably already aware of for abs so I won't go into that. Once you've got the strength you need to become more familiar with your center of gravity and weight distribution so that you can counterbalance your weight as you are leaning back. Try experimenting with just how far you can lean back in certain stances. You may need to bend your knees more to redistribute weight more evenly or even lift the heels or bend forward at the ankles. I don't know what type of dance you are doing or the speed at which you are trying to go down but in bellydance we often spend extended periods of time just leaning back in a half backbend before completing it and then we usually lower our whole body to the floor as well we do not stay in a bridge pose. Either way you really need the strength to support the back.

do more back stretching but some people just can't do it they're just not flexible enough

I couldnt for years because my spine was out of allignment go to a chiropractor!

Yoga, its great for tone and flexibility. Don't overdo trying to do a backbend or you'll hurt yourself and back injuries are a b**** to recover from. Go it easy and keep at it.

You can try putting your feet on a coach with your body on the floor. Then use your arms,lock out,use your muscles and push up

When I first tried I couldn't do it either. Don't try to stretch your back but try to look at your feet( you won't actually see you feet but it helps to curve your back right). Hope it helps

jst giv up, sum people just carnt do them coz they're not flexible enough

Just practice pushing yourself up from the floor first, once you get better you can try falling into it. Be careful though, go gradually because if you go too fast you might hurt yourself.

I've just done one. It's completely dependent on arm strength and your flexibility level.
