they look for poise. you have to keep your head held high (to make your neck look long and graceful) and you have to be very serious but try not to look to uptight. just relax your muscles and think positive. they also look for posture. no one likes to see a ballerina with their shoulders all hunched over. stand up straight and tall and picture yourself as a pro ballerina. put your hair up into a bun with pretty clips, wear a leotard and tights. also make sure that when you dance you have nice flowing arms instead of stiff ones. they will take off like 50 points for having stiff arms. imagine yourself as a flower in the wind.

i'm a ballerina and although I've never seen the royal ballet, i think that a good ballerina should always be able to do a split, have good posture, good turn out, flexible, and a nice, rounded point on your foot. Pick a good classical piece for your audition and make sure to include some advanced moves and maybe some leaps.
