it's not "fake". theres no "fake" hip hop.
ha but ballet does help.
it helps with balance flexibility and technique- although ballet technique is usually forgotten in hip hop.

at some studios ballet is required to take any other classes.
maybe that's what your friend is talking about.

but whether you do ballet monday and hip hop tuesday. or hang out with friend monday and hip hop tuesday, your still doing hip hop tuesday, and theres nothing fake about that.

But if you do want to help your hip hop- ballet is always a great idea.

whaaat? no! you don't have to take ballet to be a good hip hop dancer. in fact, some of the best hip hop dancers at my studio don't even take ballet.
i've never heard that before.

1 of my vids proves yu dont need to do ballet to do hiphop

That's not true.
You dont have to take ballet to do hip hop, but because ballet is the core of all dance, then it helps to take it.

I'm not sure about hip hop, but ballet can help in other dances (because of plia's, pirouettes and such) but it is not 100% nessissary. And if your doing hip hop for recreation, then no you don't need ballet.

To most people, hip hop is a way different type of dance to ballet, which is quite right. You don't have to do ballet to do hip hop cause hip hop is just letting your body go loose and go everywhere, wheer as in ballet, you focus on posture, movement, balance etc. But ballet may help you do better in hip hop. And ive never heard of the term "fake hip hop".

No you do not have to take ballet to take hip hop. There are some guys at my studio that take hip hop and they are not in ballet.

No. Ballet can help with movement and flexibility, but I have been a hip-hop dancer for seven years and have never taken ballet. The two styles are totally different. There ain't such a thing as "fake" hip-hop.

Naww. If anything i would think taking ballet might actually mess up the hip hop movement. though it would help with flexability and posture, thats not what hip hop is about. Ballet is mostly fluid and gracefull; hip hop usually tends to have quick and jerky movements.
