Position:Home>Dancing> What dance shoes should I use for more than one style?Question:I'm not professional or anything, just taking a dance class for PE credit. BUT i want to try out for my high school dance team so I'm starting to take my class seriously. we'll be doing *musical theatre *hip hop *modern *ballet *jazz we are just doing a little of everything, which is also what my dance team at school does. What should I get for my feet? Those "dance paws/ feet undeez", jazz, sneaker, or ballet??? Is there something that will be good for ALL dance? If not, which will fit a majority of the categories I listed? For now, i can only get ONE pair of shoes. thanks in advance! Jazz shoes like the ones in the link bellow will work for jazz, modern, hip hop, and theater. Ballet is very specific though and you will need ballet slippers or point shoes for that. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h... Capizzo makes dance shoes with smooth souls for all styles of dance. I'm considered a dancer of Ballroom, modern and Hip-hop and I'm working on Breakdancing/B-boying now. My advice is just sticking with shoes you're comfortable with. I don't think they'd push you to get the right shoes for each dance, just as long as you can move freely and comfortably. If you wanna know what i use, i stick with my sneakers because sometimes, practices just happen when we have free time. Goodluck. ^^ Jazz shoes are good more many types of dancing like hip hop, mofern, jazz, and musical theatre. They are about 50-70$ Tap shoes range from about 60-80$ but they are only used for tap, maybe slaso if you really wanted too. You should get ballet slipers for ballet, which could also be used for lyrical, which are around 60-100$ |
