Position:Home>Dancing> Am i too old to start dancing?

Question:i just turned 15 this past may and the only dance experience i've had in my life was a few weeks of ballet when i was 7 (which, needless to say, i have no memory of today) and a season of jv cheer. so basically i've got no experience at all, and i really want to learn jazz/lyrical, it seems like the perfect way to relieve stress and express emotion. the problem is, whenever i start thinking of looking for a class, studio, etc. i feel overwhelmed. first, i'm too old. all the dancers i know have been dancing since they were 4. second, i've got no experience whatsoever, i'll be starting from scratch. third, i have no idea where to start, where to look, etc.

so is 15 too old?

No one is every too old to dance:)...only if you are 65 years old. lol. I know people who started when they were 18 years old so you are fine. Just start asking around with your friends and find good reviews online (but you never know who could be typing it!). On google, you can type in your state and find different dance studios. Hope this helps:)
lol nah Im 13 and I break...:D
No!!! Not at all! You can never be to old to try a new thing! Especially if you have your heart set on it! Dont let anyone tell you what you can and cant do (except your parents!) . Be happy and do what makes you happy! Who cares if your the only one in class who hasnt danced since she was 4? you are doing what makes you happy! Dont let them intimidate you! Make friends with everyone and im sure they will help you out and you guys can practice together!! good luck!
You can do a research about where are those places that you can take dance class and the average of the age who can apply for. You can ask us about your age if you are too old to do that, but is never too late for. Check the Jennifer Lopez trajectory it was never too late for her and never too late for you.
no way...15 is really young! I think with practic you could even be better than some people who have danced for much longer...if that is your passion and your dream I say go for it, whether it be for fun or as a career, it is never too late to start. and 15 isn't so bad at all, at least you aren't even an adult yet or done high school, so there is still time to build on your resume and get involved wit dancing...I wish you best luck...I think this girl who won so you think you can dance just started dancing too and she was only like 23, so that shows you that you can do it!
nooo of course not. maybe you could join a school dance team? that's what my sister did when she was 16..and i think people on school dance teams have less experience.
u only 15 is not too old to start dancing. i had saw a 50 -65 granny start dancing on that age. so what is the worry.
