sounds like a pullback to me. the 3 jumps backwards are probably your teacher's way of getting you moving the way you might with a pullback. btw: i find that getting more height out of the jump than backwards distance helps with the pullback. you have to be high enough off the floor to be able to brush back and land. the shuffle kind of thing you describe is really just a back brush of the ball tap, which you do while you're off the floor. pullbacks can be done either sinlge or double, on one foot or two. there are even more variations, but those would be pretty advanced. happy tapping !
It's called a 'wing'

I did the same preparation steps when I was learning how to do them :) Wings are great aren't they?

Have a look at this link:

I think you are talking about a pull back. Here's a link:

Hmmm... Sounds like you're describing a pull back.
i think you mean wings only because you said jump as opposed to a walking step, like a pull back
i think that your describing a pull back...they are great aren't they... try stepping right ,left to the front and bend your knees then pull back right, left ( you should make four sounds two from each foot) your right foot will brush first and then your left, then your right foot lands followed by your left....if it isn't a pull back it could be a wing but you don't jump back in a wing...your feet do a "shuffle" to the side( it's not really a shuffle because it makes three distinct sounds when done correctly) ( it's more of a shuffle to the side and a dig) ...these are easiest to learn by starting off at a bar and "shuffleing" one foot at a time, after that is done correctly ( your muscles get used to the movement) then you can add in the jump while holding onto the bar
Well, it's probably a pull back or wing.

its called a pull back or also called a pick-up
