Is it really possible to do the splits in about 2 months? And what streches should I do?

I loooove to dance, but as you get older the requirements go up. Can i get my splits really soon by streching everyday? How??? Please help! I'm about 4 in off the ground, and want to do the right splits.


Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: everyday practice practice practice... In one of my cheer magazines it said as a tip to straddle your bed (twin size) while you do homework, I know this sounds weird, but it really did work for me I did this every day without thinking about it and it streches you out comfortably, I know your not in high scool, maybe you can do this and read or some sudoku. :) otherwise I just would practice streching out just a little past my comfort mark but can feel the stretch not hurting each day several times for several reps maybe like 12 times in a row for 30 seconds each. Just be safe and not to hurt yourself, I'd also would include doing some ballet piliets, high kicks, side kicks (spelling??) and other dance moves and other streches, side lunges, butterfly strech, (moves that really work that inner, outer, front and back theigh and leg area) do it to music so it won't get boring and maybe get a partner to help inspire you to keep working at it ...right splits were a little harder for me to get than straddle, you'll get there 4 inches isnt bad or too tough to practice to get down all the way... just everyday do it gently
