Question:

What's the best lens for DSLR for nude photography?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: not sure if i understand the question. but if you mean which focal length ( like wide angle or telephoto) so your nude models don't look goofy with large bullfrog eyes, and a chin like a giraffe, etc... due to perspective distortion...
then i can help you with an answer for that.
i would say a medium telephoto.
a portrait lens would range between 80mm - 120mm
by the standards of the old 35mm . for digital, i think you half that number or is it a 3rd. (ask your camera salesman).

with any lens, the closer you are to the subject the more distortion you create. that is why people look like a goldfish
if you photograph them closeup.
a longer lense with allow you to photograph them closeup without the distortion, because you're at a distance. it is also good for "fattening up" your model. and also to soften the rest of the body or face if you use a large aperture (ie. a smaller f number e.g f 4, instead of f 16)
of course, the opposite would apply.
if you want to make someone look "skinnier" you would not use a long lense. instead, you'll use a wideangle lense... 35mm, 28mm (once again by the old 35mm standards).

as for distortion once again, the same for posing a group...
notice that the chubbier person at the end of the group will look chubbier. that is why when posing a group, i have the skinniest people at the sides and the chubby ones in the middle. to do the opposite will get me a lot of new enemies, lol.. because they will all come to me and scream at me telling me i make them look chubby. lol

finally,
if you're referring what lense is the sharpest.
any lense can do that.
every lenses has optimum sharpness at an aperture setting that is usually 2 or 3 stops from its largest aperture
eg. 5.6 or f8 . this is because the centre of the lense
is where there is least distortion.

hope this helps.
