Question:

Can anybody tell me who was the protagonist and antagonist of the book speak by Laurie Halse Anderson?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Melinda Sordino is the progagonist; Andy Evans is the name of her attacker. (from Amazon.com book review)

EXCELLENT book; maybe I'm way off, but I don't feel Andy was the only one; her life was made difficult when she attempted to help herself but was misunderstood and basically became almost mute.

What about her former friends and the one that becomes a friend until she decides she needs to find a clique herself? Andy is NOT a good guy, but he doesn't have a very strong appearance, which is the only reason I suggest some of this (the antagonzing Melinda experiences; an island in the midst of freshmen trying to survive high school, is HUGE) contributes as well. Thankfully he's found out at the end.
