Question:

Guitar World, Guitar One, or Revolver?

I've had a subscription for guitar world for a year; it was alright, not great, but it was slightly too advanced, so I might subscribe to something else. I was just wondering what the differences, pros, and cons of guitar world vs. guitar one vs. revolver vs. any other guitar magazines are.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You might check out Guitar Edge, it's a new magazine that has only been around for a year or so. It comes out once every two months and features mostly tab (about 15 songs per issue), and not a lot of articles and lessons.

I started with Guitar World, too, and it was a little too advanced for me then, too. I kept the subscription though, and maybe you should, too. As you progress and keep learning, you won't find it so advanced, and you will need something challenging to work up to. If you practice your chords and scales every day, you will start to recognize them as patterns in the song, and suddenly you don't have to read or memorize the song note-for-note anymore because you realize that it's a chord progression in C, or that the whole solo is just in A-minor pentatonic. It takes a while to get to that point, but it's a great day when you realize you can do it.
