Question:

Do the British STILL harbor feelings of resentment toward America since having lost the Revolutionary War?

Not trying to be cute. Just always wondered.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: From my contacts with friends in England, the AWI is a barely mentioned part of their history. Then again, when your history goes back over 1000 years, there are other things that are bigger and had more impact. As one person put it, dealing with the "Corsican Ogre." In several of the British regimental histories that I have, the AWI gets 2 small paragraphs and then it goes on to mention Gibralter for 10 pages. Another contact also put it in a rather unique way. He said," Ok, you won the war but who really won it all? We eventually recieved the benefit of full trade with the Americas and none of the responsibility of governing it." GOOD ANSWER.
