Question:

Primer Prose?

What's primer prose? Could you please give me an example of one?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Primer prose is the very simple sentence structure commonly found in children's beginning reading primers (like the old Dick and Jane series.) Here are some examples of that type of primer sentence structure.

See Dick and Jane.
See Spot with Dick and Jane.
See Dick toss the ball.
See Spot get the ball.
Good boy, Spot.

In a primer format, each sentence would be on a separate page with a picture of the activity the sentence describes above it. I'm sure you remember these types of books from when you first started learning how to read.

If you're being asked not to use primer prose, it means that you need more complex sentences. That is, sentences with more than just noun (subject) + verb [+ noun (object)].
