I want to write a story, but I dont know what to write about...

Can anyone give me a really good back-bone guide of a good story?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: My favorite author once told me: "Write what you know."

Nothing makes a story phoney more than the author writing about something that apparently they know nothing about.
Think about your experience, what makes you happy. Things that you fantasize about. Do you really know a lot about horses or dogs? Write a story about a dog.. a horse.
Do you like babysitting? Write a story about a sitting event, mystery, or comedy.
Love a particular place for a vacation? Write about an event at your favorite place. Using real locations, real area can lend more credibility to your story.
I love to write fan-fiction too....
