Question:

When your making a comic, do you need a script or anything or do most people just make it up as they go along?

I have an outline for a comic but I don't know if I'm supposed to write a script or if I should just make stuff up as I go along...

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: What happens after you have the outline, you need your storyboard. Start to sketch out the different frames and characters (in basic shapes) who goes where and what words are to be said in each frame if any. Once you have the rough layout then begin to build upon that. Start making the characters more refined. Change the angles of the characters if you have to, to make them more dramatic. That's why you sketch things out. You might want to change them later either the words or the characters. Once you've finished with the words and characters, and things look the way that you want, and say what you want them to say then comes the inking. There are some comics that actually sell in pencil. Personally I think that's pretty cool, but mostly people add color so you need to decide how you want to do that. That's where I finish. You can color it traditionaly with paint acrylic or watercolors, or digitaly. The chose is yours. Now go out and finish that comic. You have to put me on your list though. I want to be one of the first people to read your stuff. Comics are so cool. Have Fun!
