Question:

Two hearts joined by a thread, a Chinese saying. Any know?

There's a Chinese saying, two hearts are joined together by a thread and are pulled together. Do any know it? Do any know the full story or where to read more about it? I read it once before on a card. I lost that card. I would like to write it in a card to my fianc㩥. Something about a knot and something else, I can't remember. Does any know the history or story behind it?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I think that came from a chinese folklore/ myth...... Not much can be found online in english or chinese regarding it... However, this is what I gathered from chinese TV novella... There was a god by the name of ??????? ( yuelao, god of the moon ), his main duty in heaven is matching making ( deciding which woman is destined to be with which man ). He does this by using a red thread to "tie" the couple together through a knot. Different region and different people have interpreted that differently...... I dont know if he literally descend down to earth to use an imaginary red thread to tie a couple together at the foot, or he does it from heaven to voo doo like doll of mortal human or just simply a red line joining 2 names in his book...... I dont know if I am making any sense with this in english.......... Either way hope I helped
