Can someone explain the significance of the seven years wars?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The seven years war was a continuation of the war of Austrian succession. overall England and France wanted to show how was bigger and badder even on a continent other than Europe. In the end France lost its holdings in Canada which caused France to lose large amounts of money in the trade of raw materials and fur. France was also in debt from their extravagant rulers and unproductive economic plans which would eventually spark the French revolution because of the potential money it lost when it lost France.

That kinda of brings us to the Louisiana Purchase. Napoleon Bonaparte needed money because of all the wars he was having in Europe. A quick way to get money was to sell France's land to the new American country. the thing was that Jefferson was a strict constructionist meaning he followed the word of the constitution as it was written, not as it is interpreted. Well when he bought Louisiana he didn't approach congress for approval, because congress is to handle the money of the country according to the constitution, but it is nether in the constitution that the president has such power to buy land. so this showed a slight flaw in the constitution as written. the purchase also expanded the United states to more than just the 13 original colonies and began the feeling of American expansion.
