Question:

Poem: To Those Who Wait (please let me know what you think)?

This might work better as spoken word--again a bit different from my other stuff. Let me know if it works for you.

To Those Who Wait

To those who hang
on strained clothes-pins
who sway and bend
under heavy burdens.

To those who have lost touch,
lost everything,
who feel themselves
sliding away.

To those who decide
to never decide,
who rub their temples
close their eyes,
and wish away
what they cannot change,
could never change.

To those who wait for
The hope
The accident
The car-crash, drive-by, O.D.
Apprehending a suicide
that chooses its moment
without shame.

To all of you who continue
at times without feeling, or need.
To every nameless face
I salute you
and stand vigil.
