But it also has the flavor of East Indian paintings though not as ritualistic. Pele as the daughter of the Earth mother, full of passion and fire. Her demure demeanor hides her power. When angered, there is no compromise. The quiet still female combined with the raw volatility of an erupting volcano seems to be a paradox to most westerners, but is understood on a deeper level by many. I like it. |
