Question:

How do you keep paint off of a palette?

My palette is always full of dry paint and it gets lumpy and everything and I want it to be smooth again. Is everyones like this or what?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I am an oil painter and if I don't paint for a few days, paint can dry. My pallette is a piece of glass, edges taped. It sits on a pallette table. When I am finished painting for the day, I cover my paint with Saran wrap (real Saran, not generic), tuck the edges under the glass, and that's it. To get rid of dried paint, I use a scaper- sold in a hardware store for a couple of dollars. You put in a single edge razor and just scrape away.
I'm sure this would work with acrylic paint as well. You could use a paper pallette, but they are single use and therefore environmentally unfriendly.
