Question:

Is living only to find death a selfless act?

Doing something for nothing.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Good point!! So, you are saying we live to find death which is an act resulting in the loss of the self and/or an event that may not even really have to do with the self....Regarding the former, maybe the means don't justify the ultimate ends, but there are still micro means and micro ends along the way which are incredibly meaningful...But, then again, maybe the means DO justify the ultimate end. For all us numb-skull humans know we ARE living for everything rather than nothing. And, that doesn't necessarily have to have religious connotations. So, regarding the latter interpretation: living to ultimately meet the inevitable, but an unknown...perhaps not selfless and perhaps not for nothing. What do or can we living humans really know about it?

I hope I've interpreted your question correctly :-).
