Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Ya can't play electric unless U can play acoustic. The best have all played acoustic one time or another. While you are learning acoustic bothers your friends and neighbors less. You can't go wrong learning on an acoustic guitar. Lyle makes several very good student guitars with neck sizes to fit all hands. So does Hohner. A student guitar should stay in tune easily and make a sound no bigger than the room U practice in. U can buy online but go to your local music store and find what sizes fit your hands first. I reccomend starting with flat wound or nylon strings as they are easier on the fingers of your hands. Like any other art, it takes time and practice to become proficient. Like the old song said......I got my first 6 string summer of '69........played till my fingers bled. That's what it takes.
