I want to start acting?

I want to start acting?

I am 12 years old, And in dramma at school my teacher asked me if i had acting lessons-and i said no. Then he asked me if i was in the school play- and i said no. Then he asked me if i wanted to be an actor-and i said yes! Well he told me to tell my mom for me to get acting lessons-i didn't want to tell her cause it would be enbarassing-but shes always telling i should be an actor (when i get older) cause i am very dramatic, but i want to now!help me get started-how do i tell my mom?!?!

Like i said i am a competitive gymnast so i am used to going in front of crowds-i actually do better infront of crowds-i am not in it for the money-but for the fun and love of doing it-money would be great...eventually-but right now i'm just a kid and living off a 7 dollar allowence everyweek . Some people say afer i watch a movie it's like i got inspired or something like i start acting just like that charictor(sp). i got VERY inspired after "Because of Winn-Dixy" because my mom said i looked like annasophia robb because i had a new haircut that i hated but looked just like her. And my sister tells me that i can go straight from laughing and having fun to serious and consintrated-like at gymnastics meets-this could possibly help acting.
I know it isn't an easy thing to do and i never thought it would be. I do sometimes impersonate people on tv with my friends and record it, wich is alot of fun! I am not completely clueless and i practice diff. charictors in the showr in the mirror=)
