Question:

I need to know if I would fit as playing Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof.?

I am going to be auditioning for Fiddler on the Roof in August. I need a basic character rundown of Tzeitel and how she is played. I really want to play her but am not sure if i will fit the character. I have long red hair, green eyes and pale skin tone. I have a broad music range. I can hit a lot of high soprano notes and can go into the low alto. My lower notes are more developed but I have a good high voice. I have some light dancing skills. I have taken tap and modern dancing classes.b So please tell me if you think if I would be right for the role!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: when I was in this show I played Teyve...looks really don't matter that much, I mean they do...but really if you can dance and sing...and act chances are...you'll get the part...

If I remember correctly she is the lead Female
Golde is the mother and all...but she doesn't really have that many lines

Tzeitel is slightly outspoken, the eldest daughter, madly in love with Motel, willing to do anything for her love....still supports TRADITION!..the Matchmaker tries to hook Tzeitel up with some rich kids...Teyve agrees to let Tzeitel marry Lazar Wolf, a wealthy, older Butcher...Teyve thinks that she will grow up happy cuz she would get $$...she freaks...is secretly in love with Motel, a poor tailor......Motel and Tzeitel agree to get married...then...they ask Teyve for his blessings..showing...that they still believe in TRADITION...he say's yes they het hitched....their wedding is trashed...yeah...that's about it I think...

good luck! hope that helped!
