Question:

I asked my teacher if 'peace' means death. He said yes.?

A collective death, or suicide, of mankind is what he understood to mean 'peace'. My God, he's my history teacher not a philosopher. What should I say to him?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Perhaps, in a way, he's right. Most historians would have us believe (and I'm inclined to agree) that those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it! Mankind has always known war (and anyone who tells you otherwise if full of it), so it would seem that the only way for there to finally be peace is for mankind to cease to exist.

What should you say to him? Try having a dialog with him. Ask him to explain his position and then you come up with a rebuttal ---you both may learn something.
