-i guess thats all....only one question...

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: As bad as it sounds they look for what they can sell. That can encompass a certain look, skill sets, talents etc.. Legit agents only take a percentage after they are able to secure work for you. Actually that's a bad way to phrase that, you still have to book the job. The agent just may be able to help you get an audition.

There are quite a few books around that you can look into that are updated monthly. I know Wolf publications puts out two different ones that list managers and agents as well as what they are looking for. Agency's needs tend to change quite often depending upone what's "needed" in Hollywood at the time. For instance one month they might be looking for Asian women between the ages of 30 and 43 the next month they might need caucasian males between the ages of 16 and 19 to play younger. The publications will also let you know if the agents are accepting new clients at that time and if they are open to union and/or non-union talent.

Another big thing the agents are going to look for, specially thr agents in the higher tiers, are experience, formal training, and verifiable credits. Keep in mind with credits and experience, high school plays and things of that nature usually don't weigh very heavily. Again this is another sign of how marketable you are before they take you on. Sad but true, it's all about how easily they can sell the package you are trying to offer.

But you are right, don't change yourself. Being yourself makes you unique and that may very well be just what someone is looking for. Best of luck!
