Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Happiness is a momentary mental state. Stringing multiple moments of happiness together so you have *lasting* happiness is the trick, and it is an active process, a skill you must hone.

What you do *is* the determining factor behind your contentment and happiness, but it isn't a general "do", like "accounting". It is what you do in every single discreet moment and how you receive that moment. What you are thinking, how you are eating, how you are talking, what you are thinking, how you are working, etc. If you are *mindful* in every moment and look for the beauty, the pros, in every action, you can find lasting happiness. It ALL adds up, and most people aren't aware of this so they aren't happy. Each moment in time is another moment that you can be happy or not, and it is up to you, and only you, to find something to be contented with in that moment. Good luck!
