Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Is the world getting more violent? It's always been full of violence, both on a local level and on a military one. But we have vastly greater populations and lethality of weapons now, with an infantry squad of ten or twelve men having more firepower than a regiment of troops a couple of centuries ago. We also have vastly better communications, so von Clausewitz's dictum that the population of a country shouldn't be aware of whether the army is at war is unimaginable. |
