Does anyone have good tips for improving singing voice and confidence to sing in

Does anyone have good tips for improving singing voice and confidence to sing in front of people?

i've never thought of myself as a great singer but i would really love to get better so i can feel good singing in front of people or just singing along to songs in my car. i would really love it if anyone had any tips or sites i could look at that could help me out!

ok i've been reading some answers and i think i should add that i am mostly asking for help on improving vocal quality as opposed to help with stage fright or something. i guess i was thinking that improving my singing would help me to sing more in front of people.
