I Need Guitar Help! this instrament is being my worst enemy lol?

I need to play guitar in a few weeks so I need help from all of you guys. How do u read music and lets say this is the guitar
(top)|o| |o| |o| |o| |o|(down where you play with the pick)
does the guitar's tabs start at the top with one and go down to a larger number or is it the other way around. I need all you advice on picking at EVERYTHING plz help me

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Pinky showed the G chord wrong. It should be 32OOO3 because the 4th, the 3rd, and the 2nd strings should be played open. The letter X on a string means do not play it.

Watching a video does not make a beginner a good player. It takes a lot of time and practice to excel at the instrument. If you are in such a hurry to learn and play well within a few weeks you are not being realistic--unless you are a guitar genius.

I am self-taught, but had received tips on playing rhythm and to hold some chords a certain way. That was in August 1956 and I'm still learning.

Madison, your best option is to purchase a Hal Leonard Guitar Chord Book #1. In it are instructions to tune and hold the guitar, form chords, and learn basic music theory. If you insist upon teaching yourself then start at page one and slowly go through every exercise until you have it down pat.

I'm a bit confused at the term 'guitar tabs.' Don't you mean guitar chords? Tabs, or tablature, is another method of playing by finger positionings on the strings.
