Your thoughts on the golden rule?

would you say the golden rule (do unto others as you would have others do unto you) would be sufficient as the only ethical guideline? would you say there are any situations where the golden rule simply would not work? thanks all!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The Golden Rule should be supplanted by what has been called the Platinum Rule.

Instead of "do unto others as you want done to you," you should "do unto others as they wish done to them."

People have different tastes, values, and desires; What you want may be very different than what another person would want.
