Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: you have to be great at art and sewing. im really good at art and i design my own clothes. but i cant sew so im ganna take lessons. you should try doing that first. then take baby steps at a time until you get better and better. you need to know how to draw the human body, shape and all. look in fashion magazines like seventeen, vogue, elle, teen vogue. copy the clothes into a what i call a 'Fashion Notebook'. it will give you an idea of what you really need to do to design your own clothes. and most importantly, imagination. if you dont have a good imagination-you wont have the natuaral skills to be a fashion designer. keep on practicing.
