Question:

Higher and higher, faster n faster, larger n larger, nicer n nicer, etc?

From human bodies, cars, trains, planes, buildings, etc there is a tendency for more innocent ppl to harm themselves, to become seriously injured or even killed, needlessly. Though we know that this is the reality that technology must advance and standards must rise, quickly--where and what r we heading towards? Will it really serve the majority of mankind?

Take your time to ponder - serious reflection and answers ple.e.a.s.s.e! Thanks!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Yes in many ways technology may be killing us. More faster better often makes things worse. With urbanization comes increased crime. Nature is what makes life beautiful & makes us happy. The further we get from nature, the more unhappy & stressed we become. We get so dependent on our machines & gadgets that we forget to simply breathe fresh air. We lose touch with who we really are & begin to destroy ourselves in many ways. The simple life is the best, but we choose complicated lives. And advertisers are constantly brainwashing us into thinking we need these things to be happy. We get caught up in a consumer society where wealth is prized above health...

Just a few thoughts...

Even knowing this, I'm a bit of a hypocrite because I would not want to forego my modern conveniences but I try to have the best of both worlds & still enjoy nature. I planted a tree & have a lovely garden in my suburban neighbourhood. I go hiking in the woods when I can. I love to be by the lake. I know that health is more important than wealth. I don't try to live above my means. Hopefully I am not heading toward self-destruction. I hate my job though & I'm a slave to it to pay for my house...
