Question:

Literary / historical trail in Singapore?

I'd like to create a literary trail based on past famous writers (Somerset Maugham, Rudyard Kipling, Noel Coward) in Singapore. For example, Maugham bunked in Raffles hotel during his stay. Where else did he go? Were there any records? Did his stories mention any part of Singapore?

Thanks.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I have just reread one of his short stories about an anthropologist who got malaria and landed in strange house by the river in Singapore. The owner of the house was planter and his wife was ex actress. I think he mention the country in other stories. There was a hotel in the story about the four Dutchmen. I am sorry I can not help you much. I really love to read these stories especially during summer.
