How much do Artists get paid?

I am doing a careers project on being an artist, for films or comics. I need to know on average how much they get paid to finish it.
I've been on a lot of sites, most of which contain a load of rubbish and were not helpful.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Depends on what kind of artist. I have artistic friends who make anywhere from $5K per year to $75K per year.
