Redwall Series??? By Brian Jaques?

Hi. For Summer Reading, I chose the book Redwall, by Brian Jaques-- the first book in the series. My mom was at a used book store, and found two other books in the series and she got them for me. Does anybody know if you have to read these books in order??? Or are they each an individual tale??? (my mom got the 4th and the 12th) I dont have any of the other books.

It doesn't really matter.

I read them all a-jumble and enjoyed them without thinking I was missing the larger plot. Each book seemed self-contained.
