When I read a paperback book it always ends up in horrible condition, why is that?

The book does not close properly the pages have gaps in between even if I am very carefull and use a bookmark.

The cover does not lay down either.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: That's just how it is. Unless you are extremely careful, you can't avoid it. They will go back to their original shape after some time.
