Question:

History.....?

why are there thirteen stripes on the U.S. flag?.........thank you for your answer..

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The 14 of June of 1777, date that now is celebrated in all the nation like Day of the Flag, the founders of the mother country decided a resolution by means of which a standard for the new nation settled down. According to them, it would have 13 white red strips and distributed in alternating form, that the 13 States just created would represent, and 13 stars on a single bottom, that would represent their fusion in a single union.
He himself George Washington, in an occasion, interpreted the meaning of the flag in these terms: ??We took the stars from the sky, red of our mother country, separating it with white strips for this way indicating that we have ourselves separated of her, and the white strips will happen to the posterity like symbol of the freedom.??
