Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I read the book when I was about 10 or 11 and enjoyed it very much. Walt Disney made a movie about the book and it starred Roger Mobley (who was a neighbor of mine). I do not know if the movie is still available or not, but it followed the book rather close compared to many Disney movies which tend to have a happy ending.

It is the story of Emil and his first trip to Berlin, Germany. He has several adventures that become connected as the story progresses.
