Who has read...?

"Tales from the Bed" by Jenifer Estess? In the book, she talks about loving Reed from California. I didn't come across a last name for this Reed, and he's not thanked in the acknowledgments along with everyone else. Does anyone know who he was? Is he an actor? Was she intending to protect him by not telling the reader his name? He comes across pretty much as a schmuck since he doesn't stick by her during her illness and leaves her behind, going back to California.

So does anyone know who Reed is?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Hi Jean! Yes, I've read this wonderful book. While I agree that Reed seems like a schmuck, he does have some redeeming qualities like his tender care of Jen while he was around her. In his defense, she never came clean about her own feelings for him.

I don't recall off hand if there was a last name given to him, but who cares. Clearly her sisters didn't think enough of him to mention him in the end notes!

I feel it's a shame she never realized that kind of love before she died. She deserved to have all her desires met, and clearly she thought he was the one to fulfill that desire. Shame she never told him how she felt.

I really thought this was a great read.
