Question:

Prisma Markers vs color pencils?

What do you prefer? I found working with either is fine, but I just want to see whats more appealing to the eye to the viewer whose looking at the art works. (Keep in mind, Prisma Markers or Prisma Color Pencils). Pros, cons.

Also...what are your thoughts on Copic markers?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Appeal - to me, at least - has to do with a lot of factors, but the greatest of them is value. Value is the distinction between light and dark, and has nothing to do with colour. If you can't distinguish between forms when you squint, or reproduce the image in black and white, then your values are incorrect.

I see too many drawings - both marker and pencil - that are too wimpy because the artist doesn't use enough value shifts.

When you're talking about the professional art market, both marker and coloured pencil renderings are viewed (by many galleries as well as the consumer) as non-professional mediums. That may change, as watercolour was once viewed as non-professional as well.

On Copic markers - they are almost identical to Prismacolor markers, except they have features such as ink and tip refills, as well as many more nib shape choices. But they work the same.
