Question:

I have a copyrighted ballad, the copyright expired, does this mean I can not earn money if it is recorded?

The song is "Hurry Home my Love" by Gene A Graves (C) 1954 everyone who has heard it likes the words and music,

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I believe that according to the newest copyright laws, any songs written after 1924 but before 1978 were automatically extended until 95 years after the copyright was established. Sonny Bono introduced legislation as a congressman (before he skied into a tree) and Clinton signed it. Double check. I am sure you still hold your copyrights. Pax - C
