Question:

In an audition for a play, should an actor be given the real script-based performance or else?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I'm not sure what you're asking.

Directors use different audition methods depending on the show, the actors, and many other things. If I were auditioning a group of amateurs for Harvey, I would use very different methods than if I had professionals auditioning for Godspell.

The director uses whatever methods he can think of to find the right actors for the roles.
