What is the best way to photograph a silver vase with out it looking gray or just a shiny reflection on it?

i have a good digital camera it has so many settings on it ,none seem to give a good pic of something metel i only want it for an ebay pic can you help


Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If it's not the right exposure, try bracketing your shot +/- 1 stop...if you don't have a bracketing feature, use exposure compensation +/- 1 stop.
As for the shiny reflection, bounce your flash off a ceiling or do a bounce-back on the ceiling behind you. This assumes you are using a pivoting flash head.
For even better results, you should use heavily diffused studio lights to the right and left of your camera (avoid flashing from the camera). The light tent suggestion earlier is also excellent.
