Question:

John Keats Sex Question: La Belle Dame?

"I set her on my pacing steed
and nothing else saw all day long
For sidelong would she bend and sing
A faery's song"

Isn't this a clear reference to him having sex with her, or is 'pacing steed' not as dirty as it sounds?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: i've just done Keats for my a level, )oh i didn't have sex with him i studied his poetry)
you are looking way to much into this, the knight is talking about the lady riding beside him on his horse
there are other poems where keats mentions sex but this isn't one of them except for mayb the end
a steed is a horse by the way its a word used by knights
