Question:

Can anyone recommend a good 5 female, 2 male play?

Hi, I am currently attending the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Hollywood. 7 of us are finishing up the 2 year program, which means this summer, we put up a full length play that will demonstrate our talent. Our group consists of 5 women and 2 men, so we ideally need to find a play with these 7 roles asap. We could probably add one more guy if need be, but no more women. Another thing is that the roles need to be atleast somewhat equal in terms of lines, and the play can either be a good comedy or drama. Preferrably a modern one. So if anybody out there can help, we'd be sooo greatful. Thank you very much in advance.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The only plays I can think of that even meets part of your requirements are:

Equus - The roles are nowhere near equal though... 4 women, 3 men and one part that sex doesn't matter because it's a horse...

A Delicate Balance but you would be short 1 female role. There are 4 women and 2 men. it's an Edward Albee play though...

You can browse here: http://stageagent.com/show_search.php?sh...

but I didn't see any that meet all your criteria. Maybe one female can bend the gender of a role? Or the whole cast can and you can do the Foreigner :-) That could be interesting!

Good luck!
