Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: There were a lot more than two tribes living in Britain then. The ancestral Welsh lived there, not yet having been pushed out by Germanic invaders. Picts also, and a number of Keltic tribes. The Picts and Kelts wound up in Scotland. Of course, some of these peoples remained behind and intermarried with later invaders.
