Question:

What do you do after you send out Headshots & Resumes to Agents?

Over two months ago, I sent out my daughter's headshots and resumes to acting agencies/managers. I never heard back from any of them.
Is there anything that I can do to "spark" agents interests? Or even just get called in for an interview?
Or, should I just send out their headshots and resumes to more agencies and pray that something happens?
Thank you very much..
PS-Is there any place where I can find auditions for my girls (a sophmore and an 8th grader) without an agent/manager?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If you've had no response after 2 months, the only thing you can do is get postcards with an update statement or invitation to a show she's doing and send them out again as a follow up. Let them know what she's doing now. You can send out H&R to agents that you didn't send them to before, of course. You should also know that sometimes the headshots don't even get seen. They are tossed right in the trash. It couldn't hurt to resubmit, but that's up to you and your pocketbook. Perhaps any former agency interns on here can give some incite as to what you can do to make your submission stand out in a good way? Obviously you don't call the office and you don't stop by... they'll take your name all right, but it goes on the 'don't ever call these people' list.

You can find auditions on the following sites where you don't need an agent, however be mindfull that negotiating a contract is a big deal and if your girls are offered anything you can in that instance contact an agent you are interested in, offer them 10% of the deal and a trial run with their agency if they negotiate the contract for you. What do they have to lose? They're etting 10% that they didn't have to work for, the problem for you is that they may already have a client like your daughter(s) in which case they may not be sent out on very many projects.

OK, the audition sites:
www.actorsaccess.com - submitting your girls will be free if you subscribe to showfax. It's $68 per year, probably per person but I'm nor sure on that.

www.backstage.com - searching is free, but you do have to pay to see all the info. You'll have to decide on your own if it's worth subscribing. Some areas have way more audition info than others.

http://www.actorsequity.org/castingcall/... If you find the audition on the Equity site, you still may be able to go, as long as their not taking appointments from equity actor's only. This is for theatre, but it's work and it goes on the resume.

Good luck!
