Question:

Savior motif ..literary term???

I am having a hard time understanding this so can anybody please explain savior motif for me?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It is a literature motif in which a protagonist often acts as a sort of Christ-like figure in sacrificing himself physically, mentally, or spiritually to aid others in the corse of the story. It is often considered a defining action of a heroic or selfless character, which in turn reveals truths of those around him. An example is Finny from A Seperate Peace who helps Gene overcome the guilt of his nature to desire through his forgiveness and death in the face of Gene's disloyalty as a friend. It really works better on a metaphorical or metaphysical level rather than an actual physical instance.
